Sister Wives new season. It's my one reality TV indulgence. Cody has shown so much growth and maturity and love this season. It's the only show I watch with in 24 hours of being out as well. I don't know why it entrances me. Psychology probably.
Listening:
This one is hard.... I haven't really been listening to anything. Oh I know, hockey podcasts. CBJ in 30 and BLR . If you want to hear me talk about hockey check out JacketCast.
Playing:
Just finished my yearly play through of Dragon Age Origins and am currently playing the first Fable game for the first time. Seeing the evolution of that game is super interesting.
Reading:
I just finished "Tears in the Wind: Triumph and Tragedy on America's Highest Peak" by Larry Semento . I should probably write an old fashioned Musings book review on it. I've been obsessed with all things mountain since my injury. No idea why, but this is probably the 10 th book I've read about mountain climbing and I've watched every documentary on Netflix and Amazon.
Currently Braden Holtby. Goalie for the Washington Capitals. We bought tickets to the Capitals v the Blue Jackets because I was getting into Ovechkin after the All Star game. Dancing Holtby stole the show for me. Then I went home and Google him and OMG hotness. I am well known for my crushes though, and could probably list a few more.
Also. Goalies are crazy. CRAZY. Which is why I love them. Here is proof.
D – Drink you last had?
Zevia Cream Soda. Don't love it yet. Going to try again.
E – Easiest person to talk to?
Probably my husband. If I can't talk to him then who can I talk to?
F – Favorite song?
At the moment I listen to iPrevail s version of Blank Space ON REPEAT ALL THE TIME. Favorite song of all time? I have a whole blog about that.
G – Good at?
Being blunt, solving problems, lifting weights, playing any Dragon Age game more than is healthy.
H – Hair color?
Burnette redish at the moment. It's always about to change though.
I – In love with?
The idea of warm weather. Hockey. My car.
J – Jealous of?
People who live in milder climates. I've also found myself lusting after other women's long hair. I've been trying to grow mine out but it's been super slow. Probably because I freak out every other trip and ask her to shape it.
K – Known as?
Kelly, Miss Kelly, scarey Kelly.
L – Longest relationship?
7 years 8 ish months
M – Middle name?
Same as my mom's!
N – Number?
Always my birthday.
O – One wish?
Going materialistic here and say living downtown. I really want to make that happen. Less materialistic, finding a job that I can enjoy more days than not.
P – Person last texted?
Probably my husband, from a different room of the house.
Q – Question always asked?
Are you a season ticket holder to the Blue Jackets? No, I was not. I just went to enough games that I could have been so I see how you got that impression. Next season though.....
T – Time you woke up?
8:00 ish. I stayed up late last night.
U – Underwear color?
Pink.
V – Violent moment?
Did you see the Scarey Kelly nickname?
W – Worst fear?
My sub conscious has developed a real thing for Heights. They didn't use to bother me and on a conscious rational level they still don't. But man. Makes me nauseous, I start imaging jumping, it's crazy. The mind is crazy. Beyond that My nightmares are generally about being kidnapped, beaten, tortured, raped and killed, so let's add those to list too. The last one a guy strapped me to one of those ambulance backboard things and smothered me to death with a book. I got off pretty easy with that one.
X – Ex you never stopped loving?
I don't think I stop loving people I once loved. They get smaller heart space, but I don't think love goes away. Unless I was lying to myself about being in love. Which happened once for almost two years. Just because someone needs you doesn't mean it's love. Lesson learned.
Y – Your last hug?
Husband or dog. Dog has been clingy today.
Z – Zodiac sign?
Leo! We don't work on birthdays, we don't take any crap, and it's important to us that our hair looks good. We also not so secretly believe we are superior to all other signs.
Feeling:
A new work opportunity has come up so that comes with the usual mix of emotions. I am really going to miss my team but I am realllllyyy excited to be doing something new. I was so bored. I have to get my work in a good place and train a couple of replacements, but then I am free from a job I've done off and on for four years. Goodbyeeeee boredom!
Watching:
The CW's Beauty and the Beast . I kind of watched the first 7 episodes in one day. Jay Ryan is HOT ( Why did no one tell me?) and the voice he is using is Sex on speed. If you like deep gravelly voices, check it out.
Listening:
The Springsteen concert I went to was posted to his website. So I have downloaded the whole concert to my IPOD and listen to it constantly. Mostly the Live version of Johnny 99. A lot.
I am reading Dear Carey. I am almost done with it. It's been a really enjoyable read and a true story, I am very sad to get to the very sad ending.
Looking forward to:
Lunch with the same friend I mentioned the last time I did this. And I haven't had lunch with him since so very much looking forward to it, again. I am also looking forward to the humidity dying down.....hopefully?
Making me happy: The Columbus Zoo ! My husband and I finally got a membership and we've been there three times. They've recently opened a new area call The Heart of Africa. The Lions and Cheetahs are closer, you can watch the Cheetahs run and there are now Giraffes. It's really awesome, I highly suggest it.
Feeling: Excited! My husband and I have decided to start working in a new 2-5 year plan, and I am super psyched for the end result. I am also excited to sit down and hammer out the details and start working on it. Not excited because tight budgets suck, but excited about moving forward.
Watching:
I am not enraptured by any series currently. I dedicate a part of last week to Chris Hemsworth ( always a good decision) and we've been watching Myth Busters and Dirty Jobs to fill silent space. Mike Rowe is a cool dude.
I just went to a Springsteen concert. So lots of new and old Springsteen. Also kind of obsessed with the single version of Defying Gravity. Someone needs to take me to see Wicked next time it's in town. Just saying.
Playing:
Pocket Stables is one of my absolute favorite games of all time. It's in the Droid and Kindle store. You buy, raise. train race and breed horses. The breeding is the fun part because it's all about strategy and timing. I pretty much play it constantly. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.kairosoft.android.horse_en
Reading:
Duty To The Dead. I am not loving it, but it is a mystery and I want to see how it ends, so I am holding on. I am about 1/2 through and it feels like I should have been done days ago. However, I've been on quite the spree of reading books in 48 hours or less, so that's probably why heading into a week of starting this one I am starting to get antsy. It is part of a series that I was hoping to get into, but I think I will be one and done.
Looking forward to:
Tanning, getting more information about the Masters of Business Psychology I found, lunch with a friend on Thursday... Oh and speaking of Thursday, SUPER excited about an event that day. I am hoping to have an inspired blog about it afterward.
Making me happy:
Looking for tattoo ideas on the internet. I've had 3 ish in mind for a long time, now I have a solid fourth, and I think it's about time to do something about it. I figure I can set them up as weight loss rewards. Kind of obsessed with maps, compasses and the "water color" effect right now. ( Sources on my pinterest board if you are interested).
*** This is my 100th blog post! Yay me!*** Feeling: Tired. There is a lot going in right now with health type stuff. Add that to work type stuff and life type stuff and it's all pretty overwhelming.
Watching: Castle . One of my friends gave me the first 5 seasons on DVD and I have gotten through every single episode. I am currently watching the 6th season on Hulu. It is good fluff. More about the mystery then about the gore. It's been really nice filler tv while everything I usually watch was on winter break.
Reading:
Dr. Sleep and it is scaring the crap out of me. It is the sequel to Stephen Kings The Shining I am sure there will be a review here because so far I am LOVING it. Even if I currently can't let my limbs hang off the side of the bed and I might be a teeny bit anxious in the dark. As a side note to this, I first tried reading Innocent which is Dean Koontz's new book. I've read more Dean Koontz, and I would have told you that I am Dean Koontz fan. BUT. I probably won't be finishing Innocent. It's basically Odd Thomas and Stormy Llwelyn in a new adventure. The blatant recycling of characters irritated me enough to give up on it quickly. It had not done much to grab before then.
Making me happy:
We have had a fruit fly infestation for months. We couldn't figure out how to get rid of them. We used every commercial trap and Google solution we could find. We kept the kitchen clean, I used garbage disposal cleaner once a week, it was So ridiculous So disgusting and So disheartening.
Then, the basement drain backed up. We had have a plumber drag a huge rotorooter down the stairs and snake the drain. Then what happened? The fruit flies magically went away. It's amazing. I was a month or two away from burning the house down, so I am relieved. What are you up to?
Thinking about: Ways to break out of the doldrums. The -30 degree days have really sapped my will to live.
Feeling: Doldrummy. I am writing a blog post to justify still sitting on my butt and not being an active member of my life.
Watching:Buffy The Vampire Slayer. I am almost through Season 5 ( Honestly I skipped most of 4, it's a crap season). If I ever watch Buffy a third time I think it will be a 1-3 and then 7 kind of viewing. We will see how season 6 is. Spike is by far my favorite character. My husband and I go in very predictable directions. His favorite characters are the every man ( in this case, Xander) and mine are the bad guys. The sick and twisted bad guys. Also, David Boreanz is much hotter in Bones than he ever was in Buffy. I might have a thing for older men to.....
Reading:I am reading a lot right now. My favorite fiction of the moment is The Ghost Bride 1/2 way through. My favorite faith reading right is The Circle Maker. It gets a lot of mixed feedback from the Christian community but it is really helping me. My favorite concepts right now are "Stop pleading and start praising" and defining Jericho and victory for myself. Good stuff.
Looking forward to:Getting the library clean. I am really looking forward to having my own quiet space.
Making me happy: Working on my prayer journal design is still making me happy. So is my new dishwasher and a clean kitchen. What are you up to?
Did anyone else eat themselves into 5 lbs over Thanksgiving? I did. That's a bid deal for me. It takes me at least 2 months to lose 5lbs, and apparently only a couple days at my parents for a holiday to gain it back.
Besides the Jaba the Hutness going on I am feeling the need to move. I am missing muscle and endorphins. Everyone is doing 30 day challenges to the end of the new year, I think I might start one 10 days late. Most of them have planks. I have no idea how to plank, so I looked it up. Plank + Eye Candy
I have an appointment with the Dr. tomorrow will I will probably be scolded for my weight gain and not allowed to continue on my current treatment. Which is okay with me I think. There are no easy fixes, and that one really helped me think about food differently which was what I needed. I need to stop putting things in my mouth because that's what I always do. Huge lesson for me to learn.
Speaking of my food issues, I am finding myself super obsessed with baking cake. Kind of like my bread baking spree. I even asked for these for Christmas so I can bake flat cakes. Because my current dream is to make a lemon layer cake for me and a chocolate layer cake for my niece. Why? No idea.
The big ticket item on my Christmas list this year? A new camera. Camera reviews are really hard to interpret. Are they saying that just because they are a camera snob who carries around a $3,000 camera? Would I even notice their complaints? After reading articles and review after review after review I settled on this one. Better than my Sony Cyber shot point and shoot, but still with in my technical capabilities. I hope. If I get it I'll let you know.
More food related I am totally digging these Bob Evans South West Breakfast Bakes. Less than 150 calories and very very yummy. You heat each side for 1:30 on each side the voila! Hashbrowny goodness. And we all know how I feel about potatoes.
Let's see what else am I loving that's not food related.....
Suave Dry Shampoo. There are two different kinds, right now this is the only kind I can find at my store. Both are awesome and spare my hair and my scalp daily shampooing. One of these day's I'll be brave and go No Poo, but for now, this is making my life.
As previously discussed here I supinate. Badly. I recently had a test done on my feet and I was 99% severe. Duh. I have to go back to see if they think they can do anything for me. In the mean time I bought my second set of these, since I wore the last ones out. I also got a pair for my brother for Christmas who walks exactly the way I do. It may not sound like an exciting gift, but when you aren't breaking your shoes every 2 weeks and you can walk like a half way normal human being it means a lot. I hope he likes them.
You would also find this on last Nov or Dec's post but it is WoW season again. If you need me, start playing World of Warcraft and we can chat. My character is almost a level 80! So.... close.....
What are you up to?

Thinking about:
Feeling: Stressed! Stressed is definitely the word. Worried about work and car payments and health and yada yada yada.
Watching:Greys Anatomy. With Sandra Oh and probably the rest of the original cast members leaving this season, this might be my last. They are trying to sell us on the new interns, but I just don't care. I am also trying to watch this season of Glee, but it is really horrible and they are asking it really hard. I am going to watch the third episode, the one that deals with Cory Montieths death. After that though, I think I am done.
Reading: W is for Wasted by Sue Grafton. It's nice to be back in Kinsey's world again. I am going to try to finish this weekend and will try to get a review up.
Looking forward to: World of Warcraft season. When it cools down and we are spending less time outside, World of Warcraft comes back. I could use some mindless wandering in a different world. One where I carry a sword and can kill random things. Making me happy: The new car! 2013 Honda Fit . It hasn't been long but so far we love it. I am looking forward to seeing if I can get my bike in it with out to much trouble. Bike racks are a crappy option when you have a teeny tiny bike frame.
Thinking about:Starting the calorie counting thing again today. It was suppose to happen last Monday, but I just couldn't do it.
Feeling:Lots. On Friday the numbness that I had been happily living in for two weeks wore off. Now I have to actually deal with my feelings. Blah.
Watching:Greys Anatomy from the beginning. I've watched Grey's since the beginning and I thought it would be fun to start over. I've never watched reruns so this is the first time I've seem some of these episodes in 9 years. I am really enjoying it. Again. :)
Reading:I read " Rita Moreno A Memoir" in one day. Yesterday to be precise. She is impressive, intriguing, and inspiring. ( yes I realized I used all I words there). I'll try to get a review up later this week. Loved it. Highly suggest it.
Looking forward to: My Nieces first birthday party. I haven't seen her in person for months. And buying baby clothes!
Making me happy:Pandora. I realize I am really, really late on this. I am listening at home and work, and having a great time. My two favorite channels are The Goo Goo Dolls and Les Miserables.
